Working as a master barber for over 30 years with two cosmetology licenses, J Scott founded the barbershop under the name Shave and Groove to personify his identity and passion for music and cutting hair in general. Shave and Groove currently resides in the city of Linden, NJ for 6 days a week offering professional cutting services. His focus is providing the best barbering experience you can possibly get from the state of New Jersey.
J Scott came to us under the referral of one of his faithful customers and long-time friend, Stanley Holmes, as he was coming up with ideas of utilizing different characters in a haircut theme. Seeing the work we have done with the previous clients convinced him to hook up with TDJ Comics on bringing his ideas to life on apparel designs.
OUR PROCESS
After communicating with J Scott on these designs, he gave us artistic freedom to come up with some ideas to further enhance his expectations. As an example, one of his designs was Superman getting a haircut from the Dark Knight himself, so we played around with different angles, perspective and threw in ideas such as adding a mirror for Superman to look for his missing, infamous hair curl.

THE RESULT
While working alongside with J Scott on each idea presented, he was 100% satisfied with the communication and the process of showing the sketches and illustrations in a fast and efficient matter.
Once the shirts were made, the people immediately fell in love with the comic book imagery and how it was on point and t-shirt ready – including the women and children. Social media also went eccentric over the new designs!
