Steve Fukuda is the Senior Communications Director of Vectra AI, the world’s #1 cybersecurity company and leading provider of network detection and response solutions in the cybersecurity market. Steve is responsible for all outbound communications, buyer awareness and the company brand at Vectra. The company wanted to create a unique persona to represent the company and what we do. It was important for customers and prospects to identify with this unique persona. The persona is now known as Cognito, which also happens to be the name of their cybersecurity software platform.
After searching far and wide for a talented illustrator to bring the Cognito persona to life, a designer colleague advised Steve to check out Tarik DJ Holmes at TDJ Comics. Steve believed our portfolio was quite impressive and featured an extraordinary dynamic style.
OUR PROCESS
Under their direction, we have created dozens of compelling, action-oriented Cognito illustrations that have been well received by Vectra customers and prospects. Steve approached to us the idea of Cognito as a superhero saving the world from the bad guys, the cyberattackers, hacking into the systems and disrupting all network securities and data banks. Before we got started, we had the artistic freedom to revamp the cyberattackers with some fresh character designs.
After dozens of reiterations and variations, we’ve finally ground up the Cyberattacker 2.0 with a more complex hacker wardrobe inspired by cyberpunk and high tech models.
Once we got final approval from Steve, we moved on to the Cognito panel illustrations crafting ideas from both parties ranging from sneaking inside various data centers to the battlegrounds on the cloud servers.
THE RESULT
We have been working with Vectra AI since 2018, and they have been tremendously happy with the results. Vectra successfully integrated our work into all aspects of marketing – from web, print collateral, signage, t-shirts, out-of-home advertisements and other vital branding efforts – including the Las Vegas digital billboard!
